Zaplakso is an offline social gaming club that runs hosted, in-person sessions of the Mafia social deduction game at its club room in Manchester. These Terms govern your use of our website, your bookings, and your participation in our sessions and memberships.
By booking a session, purchasing a membership, or using our website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you don’t agree, please don’t book or use our services.
Sessions and memberships are open to individuals aged 16 and over. By booking, you confirm you meet this age requirement.
Participants aged 16 and 17 are welcome. We may ask for consent from a parent or guardian and reserve the right to request confirmation of age. Under-16s cannot participate.
Single-session admission grants entry to one hosted session on a chosen date, subject to availability. The price for each session is shown on our Mafia Sessions & Game Formats page.
A Weekly Membership (£15) provides access to all standard weekday sessions (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) within one calendar week (Monday to Sunday).
A Monthly Membership (£35) provides access to all standard weekday sessions plus Social Weekend Sessions for one calendar month, with priority booking.
An Annual Membership (£300) provides access to all sessions for twelve months, including the Monthly Club Challenge, with the highest booking priority and members-only evenings.
Your membership begins on the day we confirm your payment.
Weekly memberships last seven days, Monthly memberships one calendar month, and Annual memberships twelve months, each from the date of activation.
Memberships do not renew automatically. Each membership simply expires at the end of its period. You will not be charged again unless you actively choose to purchase a new membership.
You may cancel a membership at any time by emailing info@zaplakso.org. As memberships don’t auto-renew, cancellation prevents any future purchase and, where applicable, entitles you to a refund calculated as set out in section 24.
All prices are in pounds sterling (£) and include any applicable taxes. We may change prices from time to time, but changes won’t affect bookings or memberships already purchased.
Payments are taken at the time of booking or membership purchase via our payment provider. We store confirmation of payment but not your full card details.
You may book sessions online or by email, subject to availability. Members should still reserve places for busier sessions so we can manage numbers.
Your booking is confirmed once you receive our confirmation email. Please keep it; you may be asked for your name on arrival.
You can book several places together by emailing us. Group bookings are subject to availability and the same Terms as individual bookings.
Sessions have limited capacity. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to members according to their tier.
If a session is full, you may join a waiting list. We’ll contact you if a place becomes available; a place is not guaranteed.
Please arrive before the start time. If a game is already under way, you may need to wait for the next round. No refund is due for lateness within your control.
If you can’t attend a booked session, let us know so we can offer your place to someone else. Members may transfer an unused single-session booking to another eligible date where possible.
We may occasionally change session times, formats or dates. We’ll give as much notice as we reasonably can and offer alternatives where a change affects your booking.
If we cancel a session, we’ll notify you as early as possible and offer you either a transfer to another session or a full refund of any admission fee paid for that session.
Single sessions: If you cancel a single-session booking at least 48 hours before the session, we’ll offer a transfer to another date or a refund. For cancellations within 48 hours, we may be unable to refund, as the place has been reserved for you — though we’ll always try to help.
Memberships: If you cancel a membership, we’ll refund the unused portion on a fair, pro-rata basis, less the value of any sessions already accessed, unless a statutory cancellation right applies (see section 26).
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we must provide our services with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and as described. If we fall short, you may be entitled to a repeat performance or an appropriate price reduction.
Where you book online, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 apply. Please note:
Single-session bookings for a specific date are a leisure service provided on a specified date. Under Regulation 28(1)(h), the standard 14-day cancellation right does not apply to leisure-activity services booked for a specific date or period of performance. Our own goodwill cancellation terms in section 24 apply instead.
Memberships that are not tied to a single specified date may attract a 14-day cancellation right. Where you buy such a membership online and ask us to begin providing access during the 14-day period, and you then cancel, you may be charged for the sessions you’ve actually accessed, with the balance refunded. We will never treat your statutory rights as lost simply because you’ve paid, booked, or activated a membership.
If you’re unsure which applies to your purchase, contact us and we’ll explain your position honestly.
Enquiry hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00–18:00. The club room opens for sessions from 6:30 pm on scheduled evenings and from the advertised time on weekend session days.
You agree to follow the host’s instructions, respect other players, and play in good spirit. You’re responsible for arriving on time and for your own belongings.
Treat everyone with courtesy and respect.
Follow the host’s rulings; they’re final for that game.
Keep in-game bluffing to the game — never make it personal.
No abusive, discriminatory or threatening behaviour.
The game only works if everyone plays honestly within its agreed rules. Cheating, disrupting games, or refusing to accept the host’s decisions spoils it for others and isn’t allowed.
Deception is part of the game; hostility is not. Comments should always concern the game, never a person’s character.
Mafia involves role-playing and consensual, in-game bluffing agreed by all players at the start. This pretend deception is confined entirely to the game and has no bearing on real life.
We may refuse entry to, or remove, anyone who behaves abusively, disruptively, unsafely, or in breach of these Terms.
If you’re removed for serious or repeated breaches of conduct, no refund is due for that session. We’ll always act reasonably and proportionately.
Please look after your belongings. We can’t accept responsibility for items lost, stolen or damaged unless caused by our negligence.
You’re responsible for any deliberate or negligent damage you cause to our premises, equipment or property, and we may ask you to cover reasonable repair or replacement costs.
All website content, branding and original materials are owned by Zaplakso or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.
We aim to keep our website available but can’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend it for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control.
Zaplakso sessions are provided for social interaction, entertainment, communication and recreational play. We don’t guarantee any particular personal outcome, and participation is simply for enjoyment.
We don’t exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud. Subject to that, we’re not liable for losses that aren’t a foreseeable result of our breach. These Terms don’t affect your statutory consumer rights.
We’re not liable for failure to provide a session due to events beyond our reasonable control (such as extreme weather, power failure, or venue emergencies). In such cases we’ll offer a transfer or refund for affected sessions.
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
If you’re unhappy with anything, please email info@zaplakso.org with the details. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within five working days and aim to resolve it promptly and fairly.
