How memberships work

Activation:
Your membership starts on the day your payment is confirmed.
Duration:
Weekly runs for seven days, Monthly for one calendar month, Annual for twelve months from activation.
Renewal or expiry:
Memberships do not renew automatically. Each membership simply ends when its period expires, and you're free to buy a new one whenever you like. You'll never be charged again without choosing to renew.
Cancellation:
You can cancel at any time by emailing info@zaplakso.org. Because memberships don't auto-renew, cancelling stops any future purchase — see our Terms of Service for how refunds are handled for the current period.
Booking rules:
A membership covers the sessions listed for your tier, but you should still reserve a place for busier sessions so we can manage numbers.

Booking and session information

How booking works: Reserve online or by email. You’ll receive a confirmation; bring it (digital is fine) or just give your name on arrival.

Joining without a group: Most players come alone. You’ll be seated with others and playing within minutes.

First-time visitors: Arrive 10 minutes early and tell the host it’s your first time — they’ll look after you.

Waiting lists: If a session is full, ask to join the waiting list. We’ll contact you if a place opens.

Late arrivals: Please arrive before the start time. Once a game is under way, latecomers may need to wait for the next round.

Session cancellations: If we ever have to cancel, we’ll email you as early as possible and offer a transfer or refund.

Player substitutions: If you can’t attend, let us know so we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.

Fair play: Follow the host’s rulings and play in good spirit.

Respectful communication: Bluffing is part of the game; personal hostility is not. Be kind to the people behind the roles.

Preparing for your first session

You need nothing but yourself. Arrive a little early, say hello to the host, and don’t worry about mistakes — everyone makes them, and they’re often the funniest moments of the night.

Speaking during discussions

You don’t have to be loud or clever. A single well-timed question can be more useful than a long speech. Take your turn, say what you notice, and pass on.

Observing player behaviour

Pay attention to who’s quiet, who’s contradicting themselves, and who’s pushing a little too hard. In Mafia, how someone talks often matters as much as what they say.

Making deductions

Build your view from small clues: voting patterns, hesitations, who defends whom. Share your reasoning so others can build on it.

Bluffing within the game

Sometimes you’ll need to mislead the table — that’s a legitimate part of playing a hidden role. It’s a bit of theatre, agreed by everyone at the start, and it stops the moment the game does.

Voting responsibly

Vote on reasoning, not on who you like least. A thoughtful “not yet, I’m unsure” is a perfectly good contribution.

Common beginner mistakes

Revealing a special role far too early.

Going silent when you’re unsure — say so instead.

Taking suspicion personally.

Respecting other players

Everyone’s here to enjoy themselves. Keep accusations about the game, never the person.

In-game deception versus real life

This is important: bluffing in Mafia is pretend, consensual and confined to the table. It has nothing to do with dishonesty in real life. When the game ends, so does the act — and that’s part of what makes it satisfying.

After the game

We always leave time for a friendly post-game chat, where the host and players talk through what happened, who fooled whom, and what everyone spotted. It’s often the best part of the evening.

Mafia is a social deduction and role-playing game — a piece of shared, imaginative fun, nothing more.
